2010.3.5〜11
5th.March
Narita―(JL759)―HoChiMinh
  17:50 22:30
I was surprised at being lots of people in the Than Son
Nhat airport.
I wondered if they were waiting for someone.
Maybe most of them were only killing time.
6th.March
I went sightseeing. The weather was fine and temperature
was about 30 degrees centigrade.
On the left it's Saigon Church and central post office
on the right.
Both of them were constructed by France at the end
of the 19th cetury.

The old president palace reminded me of Vietnam War.
When I heard for the first time Vietnamese called it
America War , I understood their feelings a little.
In my university student I often participated a demonstration against Vietnam War.
There were a tank and helicopter of U.S.A. in the war
museum. After 35 years Vietnamese never forget the
war when they stand here.

This is first lunch in Vietnam. The first dish was Cha Gio(Nem Ran) fried spring roll. Just like Vietnam. The second was Banh Xeo(a pancake with chopped meat and vegetables. The third was Pho Bo (noodle with beef) and Com Tay Cam(boiled rice with chicken). The fourth was dessert(sweet red-bean soup and lotus seed tea)

I had my foot taken massage. It cost 15 dollars per person.
I didn't know that it had an effect on me or no effect.
It was sure that itwas too pain

HoChiMinh―(VN328)―DaNang
   16:00 17:10
DaNang―(minibus)―HoiAn
This was a dinner at Hoi An. A skewer dish and a dish served in a pot were good.
7th.March
I went to My Son ruins. First I saw a traditinal dance.
for about an hours. It was very cute and eegant.

My Son ruins were Hinduism ruins.
This is the world heritage but it was not almost restored
The scale was small but it was worth seeing.
This ruins remaided me of Bramnaban in Indonesia.
Today's main was Cao Lau( Thick noodle with many ingredients). They called it Ise Udon. I know Sanuki Udon but don't know Ise. What ia Ise Udon ?

This bridge (Cau Lai Vien) is said to be constructed by Japanese in 1593.
In those days many Japanese lived here. They remaind
Japan seeing this bridge. Most of them came back to
Japan because of natinal isolation.

HoiAn―(minibus)―Hue
This is Hue traditinal cuisine. It was delicate and beautiful. I was prohibited to eat these birds.
8th.March
Hue was a capital of the last Vietnamese Guen dynasty.
I stepped up the royal palace gate. The scenery from here
was very good. But most of buildings were destroyed during
America War. This gate and house in front of us were only
existed.
I went to Thien Mu temple. This temple is famous that the chief
priest of temple commited suicide against the government during
War. The car that he drived to Saigon was exhibited.

special dishes were Bun Bo Hue (thick and soft noodle) and Com Sen (rice mixed the lotus seeds)
Both were delicious. Noodle was very nice in every place.
This is Khai Dinh imperial tomb. He was the 12th king.
This tomb was so grand.
He wasted much money constructing this place.
Then Guen dynasty ended in the13th king.
I can't help thinking the change of the times.
This is a villa in Tu Duc ( the 4th king) imperial tomb.
He liked to compose poems and left a lot of it.

This is Tu Duc ( the 4th king) imperial tomb.
He was clever and did good reign. Tomb was not grand like
Khai Dinh. I had a good impression
People in hue called him a good ruler like Minh Mang (the
second king).

Hue―(VN246)―HaNoi
19:30 20:40

I had a dinner at 4 p.m.because of departure time of plane. I was not hungry but all dishes very nice. The first was imperialmixed salad. The second was fried shrimp with salt egg sauce. The third was fried squid with salt. The fourth was grilled spare rib pork with cinimon. The dessert was Hue cake. The others were crab meat soup with snow mushroom, sauted mixedvegitables with beef and steamed rice. Because the taste were lightly-seasoned I ate completly.
9th.March
HaNoi―(minibus)―VinhHaLong
I went on a cruise in Ha Long bay. Many similar type of ship
were cruising. Maybe it was more than 100 ships.
Because the wether was cloudy, it was so cold out of ship.

I entered the limestone cave (Thien Cung Cave). It was very
big inside and beatiful becauseof lighting up.
I had never seen such a cave in Japan.

VinhHaLong―(minibus)―HaNoi

I ate a sea foodlunch on the ship. Boiled shrinp were nice. The last dish was Ca Qua Hap ( a thunderfish).
It didn't taste good for me.
10th.March
This is Ho Chi Minh mausoleum that is the most holy place
in Vietnam. I couldn't carry the camera, sunglasses and mobile phone. Of course the whisper was prohibited inside.
Ho Chi Minh was sleeping like being alive.

This is the house in which Ho Chi Minh was living till 1969.
He passed away in 1969.
It was simple. It reminded me of his personality.
I will pray for the repose of his soul.
This is Van Mieu ( Confucius mausoleum).
It is very difficult to pass an entrance exam of university in
Vietnam. Then many students preparing for the exam visit
this place. The student psychology is not different between
Japan and vietnam.
I went to Bat Trang which is called pottery town.
I got on a water buffalo cart for ten minutes.
I didn't understand why there was the buffalo cart
in that town.

This is water Puppetry. A puppet show consist of 17 show.
I enjoyed very much.

The lounge in Ha Noi airport is very large and clean. There were Pho Bo and Pho Ga. Alcohol was only beer.
